About The Team

You’ll be joining the JD.com team, which values collaboration, ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

We are seeking an ambitious and driven (Senior) Category Manager to support the development and growth of our FMCG category (Personal Care, Health & Wellness, Baby, Pets, Household & Laundry, Toys), ensuring we provide customers with the right selection of products at competitive prices.

The ideal candidate will have experience in category management, buying, merchandising or procurement, with a strong ability to build meaningful supplier relationships and translate market and customer insights into effective category strategies.

This role offers a unique opportunity to shape category strategy and contribute to the growth of a dynamic and fast-growing e-commerce business.

What You Will Do

• Manage the end-to-end category management process, including assortment strategy, pricing, supplier management, inventory and promotions.
• Develop and nurture strategic partnerships with key national, regional and local suppliers.
• Analyse category performance, customer demand, market trends and assortment gaps to identify growth opportunities.
• Build and continuously optimise the product assortment to meet local customer needs.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure healthy stock availability and inventory efficiency.
• Develop and execute category sales strategies, including pricing and promotional activities.
• Develop long-term category strategies tailored to local market needs.
• Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Marketing, Operations and Product teams.
  
  

About You

• Relevant experience in Category Management, Buying, Merchandising or Procurement, ideally within FMCG.
• Strong understanding of customers, market dynamics, assortment and commercial principles.
• Experience in supplier management and building effective commercial partnerships.
• Strong analytical capabilities and data-driven decision-making skills.
• Effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Highly driven, proactive and results-oriented.
• Fluent in German and English.
