As a Frontend Engineering Lead for the Content team, you'll help make our hotel price comparison more informative and useful for millions of daily users. You'll coach and grow a small group of software engineers while staying hands-on with the code — sitting right at the intersection of product strategy and engineering. trivago is a place where ambition and support go hand in hand — we hold high standards and genuinely invest in each other's growth. How you'll make an impact:

• Coach and mentor a group of 3-4 Software Engineers, providing feedback and identifying training opportunities so they keep growing and use the full range of their talents
• Contribute hands-on to engineering projects and be a role model of good engineering practices
• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to combine different perspectives into a joint plan of action
• Define team OKRs and translate strategic priorities into actionable, well-executed plans for the Content Frontend team — including fast, test-driven iterations that ship in days, not months
• Adapt your leadership style to meet each team member where they are — building confidence through delegation and empowering people to grow into greater ownership over time
• Foster a trust-based environment where candid feedback flows freely, diverse perspectives are heard, and healthy challenge leads to better outcomes
  
  
  

What you'll need to thrive:

• You have prior experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, strong knowledge of HTML/CSS, and hands-on experience with React — ideally also Next.js and GraphQL — along with comfort working in a fast-paced, A/B-testing-heavy environment
• Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring a team — with a track record of helping others grow while delivering results, and confident, direct communication skills to work with senior stakeholders
• The ability to adapt your leadership style situationally — knowing when to direct, when to coach, when to support, and when to delegate based on each team member's needs and readiness
• A genuine learning mindset — you approach challenges with curiosity, seek out feedback, and continuously look for ways to develop and grow
• A performance mindset — you set ambitious goals for yourself and the team, with the determination and resilience to follow through and achieve them
• A hands-on, daily commitment to pushing AI tools to their limits in real workflows — and a drive to enable your team to do the same, treating AI fluency as a core leadership expectation, not an add-on
