About our client

Our client is a well-established private equity investment firm with a strong track record in investing in business services and industrial tech businesses. They are currently expanding the investment team to support value creation across the portfolio as well as to assess and develop investment opportunities.

This position offers the chance to work at the intersection of investment management and hands-on portfolio company involvement with significant responsibility within a small and entrepreneurial team based in the Düsseldorf region.

What the job involves

• Drive value creation across a number of portfolio companies, supporting management teams on growth, performance and strategic priorities
• Contribute to commercial, operational and financial initiatives within portfolio companies, helping translate strategy into measurable outcomes
• Track and analyse portfolio company performance, helping prepare regular reporting and recommendations
• Evaluate investment opportunities, including market research, financial analysis and due diligence
• Coordinate advisors, senior industry experts and operating partners
• Work closely with the CEO and senior investment professionals, gaining hands-on exposure to strategic decision-making across the portfolio
  
  

Who we are looking for

• Multiple years of relevant experience gained in investment banking, consulting, Big 4, a search fund, or a PE-backed portfolio company; exposure to a private equity or principal investment environment is a plus
• Strong financial understanding paired with genuine commercial and operational curiosity
• Comfortable engaging with management teams, with a proactive, personable approach to building relationships over time
• Initiative and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
• Interest in learning to balance value creation with an eye for emerging strategic opportunities
• Willingness to spend regular time on site with the wider team
• Fluency in German and English
