Responsibilities
Track regulatory developments from the European Commission, ACER and national regulators (e.g. BNetzA, CRE, ARERA, CNMC). Analyse the impact of EU and national policy, including the Electricity Market Design reform, REMIT, and the Renewable Energy Directive, on renewable integration, price formation, flexibility remuneration and support schemes, and deliver compliance and opportunity analysis reports.
Compare rule differences across national markets and bidding zones to support project site selection and market entry strategy.
Analyse supply-demand fundamentals, cross-border flows and price volatility to anticipate market opportunities and increase trading profitability.
Document trading methodologies, build a European power market knowledge base, run rule training for internal teams, and provide trading support across departments.
Qualifications
Deep knowledge of European market design, including day-ahead and intraday markets, balancing markets and capacity mechanisms.
Experience with Guarantees of Origin (GOs) and PPA structuring is a plus.
Solid understanding of settlement and imbalance mechanisms (including BRP responsibilities and 15-minute settlement periods), with the financial acumen to calculate trading revenue and risk exposure accurately.
Working knowledge of the REMIT, MiFID II and EMIR compliance frameworks.
Ability to engage with TSOs, exchanges, regulators and market partners across multiple European countries. Fluent English required; German, French, Italian or Spanish is a strong plus.
Rigorous logic and attention to detail to ensure trading compliance and data accuracy.
Strong results orientation, teamwork, and the ability to drive initiatives across departments and turn expertise into commercial outcomes.
