A leading international data centre general contractor based in Germany is seeking a Social Compliance Administrator to support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of ethical labour and social compliance standards across a major construction project. The role ensures full compliance with German and EU labour legislation, client requirements, and internal ethical policies, including modern slavery prevention and responsible supply chain management.
Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, HR, HSE, procurement, and project leadership, you will play a key role in embedding ethical labour practices across a complex, fast-paced construction environment
Key Responsibilities
Social Compliance Implementation & Site Support
Support day-to-day implementation of social compliance and ethical labour standards on site
Advise project teams and subcontractors on Austrian labour law, posted worker requirements, and project-specific standards
Verify workforce compliance documentation across subcontractors and agencies
Act as the main site-based point of contact for social compliance queries
Subcontractor & Labour Agency Engagement
Support vetting and onboarding of subcontractors and labour providers against compliance criteria
Review workforce documentation including contracts, timesheets, payslips, right-to-work checks, and posted worker records Identify and escalate potential labour risks within the supply chain
Auditing & Corrective Actions
Support and participate in site audits and compliance inspections
Assist in preparing audit reports and tracking corrective actions through to completion
Maintain accurate records of findings, actions, and improvements
Training, Awareness & Reporting
Deliver or support toolbox talks and awareness sessions on ethical labour standards and modern slavery prevention
Contribute to social compliance KPIs, reporting, and client updates
Support continuous improvement by capturing lessons learned and best practices
Collaboration & Governance
Work closely with Project Management, Procurement, HR, HSE, and Compliance teams
Support client-facing interactions on social compliance matters
Help embed ethical practices into daily construction operations
Skills & Experience
Required
- Degree or equivalent experience in Law, Social Sciences, HR, Compliance, Business, or related field Strong understanding of labour standards, ethical supply chains, or social compliance frameworks
- Knowledge of Austrian labour law and posted worker regulations
- Strong communication skills with confidence engaging site teams and subcontractors
- Fluent in English (additional European language is highly advantageous)
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a site-based
Environment
- Desirable Previous experience in construction, engineering, or large-scale infrastructure projects
- Experience supporting audits or compliance inspections Knowledge of modern slavery legislation, ILO standards, or EU due diligence frameworks Experience working on data centre or mission-critical projects
