Are you the person we're looking for?

As a Sales Application Engineer, you will work directly with customers to support and expand our business across Europe. This role combines technical expertise and commercial support, with approximately 60% technical responsibilities and 40% sales and commercial activities. You will also represent IKO at regional events and trade shows.

The role is based in Germany.


In this role, you will:

  • Act as the face of the company, bridging communication between customers, the IKO Sales team, and technical departments.
  • Deliver technical support and application expertise for IKO solutions to customers and prospects throughout the pre-sales and post-sales process.
  • Perform product lifetime calculations and provide technical information to support customer applications.
  • Supply customers with technical documentation, specifications, and engineering data.
  • Respond to customer technical inquiries and provide engineering support.
  • Coordinate the preparation and delivery of technical drawings with HQ Japan technical and sales engineering teams.
  • Liaise with HQ Japan technical and sales engineering teams to investigate customer complaints and provide solutions.
  • Coordinate environmental investigation requests with HQ Japan technical and sales engineering departments.
  • Prepare and consolidate Mechatro sales and inquiry reports on a bi-monthly basis.


What you bring:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Application Engineer, or similar technical customer-facing role
  • Experience with high-end precision equipment, mechatronics, or industrial engineering products
  • Proven experience supporting both existing customers and new business opportunities
  • Strong technical and engineering knowledge with the ability to provide technical calculations, product data, and application support
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of CAD software
  • Strong troubleshooting, investigation, and problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of precision mechanical systems and industrial applications
  • Customer-oriented mindset with excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers and internal teams
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to support sales activities and business growth
  • Strong coordination, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an international environment
  • Fluent English and Japanese language skills are mandatory; German is considered an advantage
  • Willingness to travel frequently across Europe
