Our Trading IT is looking for you!

As the Technical Lead for Trading Integration, you set architectural direction, that ensures technical excellence and drives innovation. You guide the integration area by engineering best practices. Sitting in the Middleware leadership team, your key responsibilities are

Technical Strategy & Architecture for middleware

• Define the technical vision and architecture for the middleware platform, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategy.
• Establish best practices for API design, messaging, event-driven architecture, and integration patterns.
• Ensure the platform is highly scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant, supporting the demands of energy trading.
• Lead the adoption of cloud-native and DevOps approaches, optimizing middleware performance and deployment efficiency.
  
  

Platform Engineering & Development Leadership

• Guide engineering teams in implementing high-quality middleware solutions, providing hands-on technical leadership where needed.
• Define and enforce coding standards, security guidelines, and operational best practices.
• Ensure observability, monitoring, and alerting are embedded into the platform for proactive issue resolution.
• Lead the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, ensuring continuous platform evolution.
  
  

Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with the Product Owner to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
• Engage with developers, architects, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration across IT landscapes.
• Advocate for middleware best practices, coaching teams on modern integration approaches.
  
  

Governance & Continuous Improvement

• Define and monitor key technical KPIs, including performance, availability, and security metrics.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and operational resilience requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, fostering automation, standardization, and self-service enablement.
• Proven experience as a Technical Lead, Middleware Architect or Senior Integration Engineer.
• Deep expertise in middleware technologies, including APIs, event streaming and messaging (Kafka, MQ, AMQP) and event driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience leading technical strategy and architecture for high-performance, mission-critical systems.
• Hands-on experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform etc).
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to influence technical direction and best practices.
• Very good inter-personal and verbal/written English communication skills.
• Collaborative attitude and good moderation skills.
• Enthusiastic to steer, train and upskill internal and external staff.
