We are seeking a skilled and experienced General Ledger Accountant (all genders) to join our dynamic accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records, and contributing to the monthly and annual closing processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of accounting principles, and a proven track record of managing financial operations in a fast-paced environment.

The position reports to the General Ledger Lead.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

• Independently prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB) for the German entities
• Prepare the monthly financial reporting packages and variance analysis
• Maintain, reconcile, and analyze general ledger accounts
• Create and post intercompany invoices; perform intercompany reconciliations
• Accurately track and review payment flows across various online marketplaces and payment service providers (e.g., Amazon, PayPal, Adyen)
• Support the processing of fixed asset accounting
• Post accruals, deferrals, and other recurring closing entries
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies
• Support with internal and external audits and be contact person for auditors
• Contributing to the optimization of financial processes and the implementation of new accounting systems
  
  

What we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field // CPA or Certified Management Accountant IHK (Bilanzbuchhalter IHK)
• 3-5 years of professional experience in accounting, ideally in the e-commerce industry
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP Germany (HGB) and financial reporting
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics NAV, SAP) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Financial integration of e-commerce platforms is a plus
• Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Proficiency in both English and German is essential for this role
